Rocket Rocker Newz for 2/2/10

Steven Tyler's Not Gonna Lie Down About Being Replaced........

You know, I was starting to wonder about Tyler's mental stability when the rumors started flying that he was no longer Aerosmith's frontmant. And my worries increased when I read a story about his impromptu performance for a store full of customers in a California Home Depot. So I've got to say that I'm a little releived to find out that he isn't taking his replacement in Aerosmith lying down. Recently, Tylers lawyer, Skip Miller, fired out a letter to Aerosmith telling them to call of the search for a new lead singer. Miller is also asking for a meeting between Tyler and the remaining band memebers to discuss recording a new album and tours. Names that have come up to replace Steven in Aerosmith include Billy Idol, Chris Cornell, and Paul Rogers. But Aerosmith just ain't Aerosmith without Tyler if you ask me.

New Blink 182 Ablum Is On The Way.....But When???

Again, Twitter is kicking CNN and Fox news when it comes to breaking news. Music news' asses. In music news, at least. Mark Hoppus jumped onto Twitter the other day, "2011 is too far away. Gonna do all I can to have a Blink-182 album in 2010." But that's just one bandmates take. Travis Barker says that they're working on it, but first he and Tom Delonge have to finish up albums from their side projects. Oh and there's a European tour this summer too. "So it looks like early next year for the next Blink album," Barker stated.  So Hoppus may be game, but looks like he's gonna have to bide his time and practive the virtue of patience....as do we all.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Debut Their New Guitarist....During a Neil Young Cover........
Yep Yep....I'm so proud....or not....I can't really decide yet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers made their first public performance with their new addition, Josh Klinghoffer, this past weekend. They covered Neil young's "A Man Needs A Maid" at the 2010 Musicares Person of the Year event in LA. If you've been living under a rock for the past few months, then you should know that Josh has replaced original guitarist John Frusciante who "officially" quit in December.
