Lots of people consider themselves athletes. But I NEVER in my life EVER considered pole-dancers as such. In fact, until I checked out this story on MSNBC, I always thought pole-dancers and strippers were one and the same! But I now stand corrected. In fact, Tokyo held second annual Pole Dancing Fitness Championships, with competitors twirling, grinding, and sliding in from 11 different countries!!! Now, its too late to try to get this event added to the 2012 Summer Olympic program, but pole-dancers everywhere are uniting to gain the International Olympic Committee's stamp of approval and recognition that Pole Dancing is in fact a sport.

Rocket Rocker Newz (2-23-10)
Hey rockers! Lots going on in the world of Rock, so here's the latest.......
Pearl Jam To Appear On SNL.......
Yep Yep. Saturday Night Live has scheduled the rock group to eappear on their March 13th episode. But no, it hasn't been said that they are hosting....just that they are appearing and plan to perform songs from their most recent album, Backspacer.
Slash's Talks Solo Album and Tour..........and Velvet Revolver???
Slash says the he knew he had to do a solo project when he got on stage with Fergie and performed a cover of "Sweet Child of Mine" from Guns N' Roses. "Fergie asked me to do it wither her, and she's honestly one of the only singers I would trust that song to, "Slash said. And Fergie is now one of more than a dozen singers who will be making an appearance on Slash's self-titled album, which is scheduled to drop this April. So you'd think with all the work he's obviously been putting into his new project, that the last thing he's want to do right now is fill in for Scott Weiland in Velvet Revolver. It isn't his first priority for sure, but the thought is still in the back of his mind. Velvet Revolver is still maintaining the search for a new frontman while Slash does his own thing, but hey....we just may see him singing "She Builds Quick Machines" here soon........
So What the Hell s Scott Weiland Up To Then??????????
Well, Scott's been flapping his gums to Spinner that Stone Temple Pilots have just finished mastering their newest studio album and are even putting their own music festival together. The name of the new album? Yeah, Scott forgot to mention that part.....but it is their first since 2001!
Deftones Set Title and Release Date of New Project.....
Diamond Eyes, the newest studio alubum from the Deftones in what seems like forever. The album will be available everywhere May 18th. And Today, you can download the first single, "Rocket Skates," at deftones.com
Killswitch Engage Without Howard...........
So the rumors are flying! What the hell happened to Howard. If you didn't catch my story last week, then you need to know that Howard unexpectedly left KsE's headling tour. So, to address the rumors, the band issued this statement, "It became overwhelmingly obvious to all of us around Howard that he is in no condition to be on tour right now and that he needed to get off the road and get himself better. It's a personal matter and while we understadn everyone's curiosity and concern for Howard and the band, we appreciate everyone respecting Howard's privacy at this time." So there, eff off you nosey fans. That's what I got from it. But don't feel too hurt. Currently, Phil Labonte of All That Remains has been filling in for Howard and has been offering KsE fans a unique experice. Feel lucky Labonte listeners! Once in a lifetime!!!
Bullet For My Valentine Has A New Album!!!
Yep, our Swedish rockers are returning with its 3rd Jive album, Fever, on April 27th. The official first single? "Your Betrayal." And I'm hoping to have in spinning in your dirty eardrums by March 9th.

Avenged Sevenfold is heading back to the studio............
Posted by A7X's myspace:
I want our fans to know that with Jimmy in our hearts, our journey to record has officially began. Jimmy helped leave this world an amazing gift and now it's our job to make sure to deliver that gift to our fans. We asked Jimmy's all time favorite drummer Mike Portnoy to record on behalf of him. Mike said it would be an honor and without question that?s what Jim would have wanted. Its comforting to us that someone like Mike, who is undoubtedly revered as one of the best drummers in the world, held such respect and adoration for the Rev's abilities. Even though it will never be the same without our brother by our side, his essence lives in our hearts and through the music he helped create. He was a legend before any of the success or any of that bullshit and we are fucking excited to lay this down for our fans, and especially for Jimmy.

Rocket Rocker Newz for 2/16
Its Fat Tuesday, which means you better live it up before you give it up! Here's your latest in Rocket Rocker Newz.......
The White Stripes Are Pissed.......
The Air Force Reserve is feeling the wrath of the White Stripes! Apparently the group is having a fit over the Air Force Reserve's Superbowl Commercial. They're claiming the Air Force did an unauthorized re-recording of their song "Fell in Love With a Girl" for the ad. The White Stripes posted a video of its song alongside a link to the Air Force Reserve commercial on their website. And of course, the Stripes went on to put their feet in their mouths by stating that "they don't want anyone to think that they encourage recruitment during a war they don't support."
Coheed and Cambria's New Single.........
Coheed and Cambria's new single, "The Broken" is being streamed at their homepage. This is their first single to be released to the public in over two years. Has it really been that long??
While We Wait For Blink 182....They'll Be Working on Solo Projects.......
Well, while we bite our nails in anticipation of a new Blink 182 album, it seems the group is more focused on their own solo projects.Travis Barker has recruited some big names for his forthcoming solo album. The original announced guests made it sound like a hip-hop heavy effort with the likes of Lil Wayne, RZA and The Game making appearances but Barker now says that fans can expect an ecletic mix of music and announced an additional guest singer. "I'm not singing or being an MC or anything," the Blink-182 drummer tells Spinner. He goes on to talk about the special guests for the album, "I'm rounding it out right now," he said. "I just love music. The more I can be around it the better, so with my album it's no one genre. It goes from everything from punk rock to hip-hop to some electro stuff on there to a metal song with Corey Taylor from Slipknot. It's been really fun and interesting up till now."
Rob Zombie Tops Chart and Heads Out On Tour......
Rob Zombie's album Hellbilly Deluxe 2 has debuted at no 8 on the Billboard Top 200 Album chart with upwards of 48,500 units sold in its first week of release. The album also takes the top spot on the Hard Music chart, arriving at #1.Rob Zombie and crew will soon be hitting the road to co-headline this year's Mayhem Festival kicking off in San Bernadino, CA at the San Manuel Ampitheater on Saturday, July 10th (please see below for tour dates). And yes, they'll be hitting the Journal Pavilion in Albuquerque July 17th, so get your panties untwisted already!!!
In other Rob Zombie news, the filmmaker will make his television directorial debut with an episode of CBS' highly-rated show CSI: Miami set to air on Monday, March 1st at 10:00PM, EST. Jeez, is there anything this guy can't do????
Can This Pickle Get More Fans Than Nickelback????
Chad Kroeger likes pickles. He's written songs about them and even tried to eat one for a case of beer at one time. So it's only appropriate that a bored person would start a Facebook page called "Can this pickle get more fans than Nickleback [sic]?"Nickelback currently have about 1,400,000 fans on Facebook, but the pickle is closing in on that in a big way, since it already has about 960,000 fans. This is the latest "can this food get more fans than" Facebook pages.
Axl Rose Flips The F**k Out!!! I've been waiting for this for a while....
Things got heated on MyGNRForum.com last week when Guns N'Roses vocalist Axl Rose posted under the user name 'Dexter'. Axl lashed out at one of the forum moderators (and since relived of her duties) named 'Madison' with a profanity laced tirade. At issue is the accusation that someone in the Guns N'Roses camp banned fans from wearing Slash gear inside the Winnipeg, Manitoba show as first reported by TMZ.com. Axl posted, "What the f**k do you know? That's right! You don't know jack f**king sh*t you f**king ignorant, know it all, f**king deluded, misguided, self important, self righteous, pious, small minded, clueless, loud mouthed, arrogant c**t. "No one needs your opinions n' having to deal with your constant abuse of privileges or the miniscule amount of power you've had here you wield like an angry, lesbian, wannabe, high school parking lot rent-a-cop always mouthing off like you're some kind of authority which you're far from. I have to say it saddens me you continue to babble your horsesh*t to unsuspecting fans n' any names n' numbers you have are of people like you who try n' hurt others to promote themselves at their expense. That's the only real thing you got bitch."
Wow Axl, if I didn't love you before, I sure as hell do now!!!!

Howard Leaves Killswitch Engage Tour!!!
I know I know, I'm as shocked as your are, but according to the Killswitch Engage's webstie "Killswitch Engage vocalist Howard Jones is leaving the current headlining tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Dark Tranquility due to unforseen circumstances." Now this vague update makes us wonder: Did Howard quit? Is he sick? Did he get hurt? What the eff happened??? What we do know is that the lead vocalist for All The Remains, Phil Labonte, is filling in for Howard until the remaining guys from KsE decide what the next step is. But after a tweet from Labonte, I'm thinking Howard's fallen on the ill-side of the rumors. Labonte tweeted, "Yep, I'm singing for KsE intil HoJo gets better. Not sure how long it'll be, but i'm here 'til they don't need me anymore."

Rocket Rocker Newz for 2/9/10
Alright rockers! Hopefully we all caught The Who rockin' the Superbowl this past weekened....if you didn't, you missed a hell of a show! Here ya go with the newest happenings in the rock world!
30 Seconds to Mars Bomb Scare!
Jam! reported earlier this week that rock/alt favorites 30 Seconds to Mars called off a screening of their documentary in Los Angeles last Thurday night because of a bomb scare. At The Hive in West Hollywood a man rushed the stage and dropped a suspicious looking package at Jared Leto's feet. Footage that was posted on the interwebz show Leto grabbing the man and pulling him away from the crowd to a back room. Police were called, the building was evacuated, and the surrounding streets were also sealed off. Obvioulsy no bomb was detonated, but no other details as to what was in the "suspicious package" have been released. There are about a million jokes I could make about Leto's "suspicious package" here.....but I'll just move on:)
Megadeth Reunion...........
Megadeth founder and frontman, Dave Mustain, has announced the return of original bassist David Ellefson to the multi-platinum group. And the reunion is just in time for their Rust in Peace 20th anniversary tour, which hits El Paso March 28th at Club 101. Its been 8 years since Ellefson has been on stage with the group, but as Dave Mustain put it, "David Ellefson belongs in Megadeth. Next, we are going to show you the power of getting your asses kicked....HARD!"
My ass is ready Dave, my ass is ready....
Chroma.....The White Stripes Ballet........huh?
A ballet set to orchestrated versions of White Stripes songs is set to open in Toronto this coming Novemeber. Chroma premeired in London, England in 2006 and is the work of choreographer Wayne McGregor and composer Joby Talbot's interpretations of Jack and Meg White's songs.

Rocket Rocker Newz for 2/2/10
Steven Tyler's Not Gonna Lie Down About Being Replaced........
You know, I was starting to wonder about Tyler's mental stability when the rumors started flying that he was no longer Aerosmith's frontmant. And my worries increased when I read a story about his impromptu performance for a store full of customers in a California Home Depot. So I've got to say that I'm a little releived to find out that he isn't taking his replacement in Aerosmith lying down. Recently, Tylers lawyer, Skip Miller, fired out a letter to Aerosmith telling them to call of the search for a new lead singer. Miller is also asking for a meeting between Tyler and the remaining band memebers to discuss recording a new album and tours. Names that have come up to replace Steven in Aerosmith include Billy Idol, Chris Cornell, and Paul Rogers. But Aerosmith just ain't Aerosmith without Tyler if you ask me.
New Blink 182 Ablum Is On The Way.....But When???
Again, Twitter is kicking CNN and Fox news when it comes to breaking news. Music news' asses. In music news, at least. Mark Hoppus jumped onto Twitter the other day, "2011 is too far away. Gonna do all I can to have a Blink-182 album in 2010." But that's just one bandmates take. Travis Barker says that they're working on it, but first he and Tom Delonge have to finish up albums from their side projects. Oh and there's a European tour this summer too. "So it looks like early next year for the next Blink album," Barker stated. So Hoppus may be game, but looks like he's gonna have to bide his time and practive the virtue of patience....as do we all.
Red Hot Chili Peppers Debut Their New Guitarist....During a Neil Young Cover........
Yep Yep....I'm so proud....or not....I can't really decide yet. The Red Hot Chili Peppers made their first public performance with their new addition, Josh Klinghoffer, this past weekend. They covered Neil young's "A Man Needs A Maid" at the 2010 Musicares Person of the Year event in LA. If you've been living under a rock for the past few months, then you should know that Josh has replaced original guitarist John Frusciante who "officially" quit in December.
AC/DC Finally Wins a Grammy.........
Sunday night, for the first time ever in their career, AC/DC won the best har rock performance award for the song "War Machine." It's about damn time!!!! Just think, they're fist Grammy come 30 YEARS after the release of Back in Black, which is the second biggest selling album world-wide behind Micheal Jacksons Thriller. Congrats AC/DC, and I'm sorry it took so long for the industry beurucrats to realize it.
Limp Bizkit Has New Music For The First Time In 10 Years.......
The original members of Limp Bizkit are teaming up to treat their fans with new music for the first time in 10 years! Yes yes, Borland and Durst have finally patched things up between themselves, and are now reuniting with Sam Rivers, John Otto and DJ Lethal and they're working on a new album, "Gold Cobra." The first track is set to be unveiled in the next few weeks according to Durst's latest Tweet: "looking like our new single will be finding its way to you more like February-ish. Just making sure everything is ready to strike!"
