Ricky Is Out of The Closet Finally....But Why???

So..Ricky Martin is gay. *Gasp* Big shock right?? But do you know why he decided now would be a good time for stepping out of his not-so-secret-closet?? The reason may suprise you. I, along with the half of humanity that heard the breaking news, considered it a cheap publicity ploy. He must have a new album coming out soon, something along those lines. Then I read a little story on AOL.com.

"Paquita la del Barrio, who has sold millions of albums worldwide and whose songs are staples in jukeboxes in Mexico, announced that she would rather a child starve to death than be raised by a gay couple in response to marriages of same-sex couples in Mexico City. Two weeks ago, there was no word, image or story to contradict Senora la del Barrio in Spanish-language media -- just abstract stereotypes about being "gay." Today, our friend Ricky Martin, who we Latinos have known since he was 12, is that face – a gay man who is the father of two sons. He is the face of all those people Senora la del Barrio was attacking. Her job isn't so easy anymore."

I for one and very proud of Ricky knowing this information. He's not standing back and doing nothing. He's showing the world that not everyone is as small minded and petty as Paquita. You rock Ricky, and I'm sorry for being so quick to assume you were going for publicity. PS- when is the new album due out???

Amy Lee Is Making "The Best Album of My Life"

I kept wondering what the hell happened to Evanescence. Nothing new in a few years...since 2006...former band members joining forces with American Idol contestants to creat We Are The Fallen (this made me fear the apocolypse by the way)....I just thought it was over. But I'm glad to know I was wrong. Amy Lee is speaking up and say that Evanescence is alive and well!
“It wouldn’t be an Evanescence album if it didn’t sound somewhat like Evanescence,” Lee told Billboard: “I feel like our band has always had programming and inspirations from Bjork and Depeche Mode and Massive Attack and that kind of thing. It’s not like we’re making one of those records; it’s just, like, that is playing a bigger role in the sound of Evanescence this time. Those little nuances and hints come in in ways that are cool. The sound that we’re going for as a group is to fuse synthetic instruments with organic instruments and create something that sounds like a whole new place. It just sounds larger than life.”

Bahahahahahahaha! *gasping for air* bahahahahaha!!! This bumper sticker was ridin' on the rear of a Dodge mini-van-something cruising down Valley in front of me on my lunch-hour. I'm still laughing my ass of:-)

Then right after I turn off Valley onto Avenida De Mesilla....I see a guy mosying down the sidewalk wearing a half a pair of sunglasses!!! He looked like a pirate! At first I really though it was an eye patch and I felt like an a**hole for laughing at him.....then I saw the ear peice and realized we was wearing the what I assume to be the better half of a busted pair of sunglasses....and I gotta admit...I don't feel bad laughing

Facebook = Random Sex....Apparently....

AUSTIN, Texas (Wireless Flash - FlashNews) – Apparently, Facebook users have become a fan of random casual sex. As a result, the number of new cases of sexually transmitted infections has increased, according to a research study done by public health officials in Britain. Areas where Facebook usage was at a peak found higher instances of chlamydia, syphilis, and other STIs. Arthur Coleman of the Medical Institute of Sexual Health in Austin, Texas, concurs with the findings, saying Facebook is to blame for enabling sexual encounters that lead to a bad case of crotch rot. He explains, “With Facebook you end up increasing your number of sexual partners. You’re hooking up with more casual sexual encounters and there’s no question that it leads to STIs.” Coleman thinks people should consider abstaining from random sex using Facebook, or at least play it safe by using protection since being online friends doesn’t guarantee disease-free genitals.

But being Jack White, he also stuck with being vague and didn't bother to metion a title, or if it would ever even be released. Jay-Z could not be reached for comment....hahaha...ok...I never even tried:-)

Freaky right??? I honestly have no clue if this is real or not....but wow.

Here's the story according to Metro.co.uk:

Centenarian Zhang Ruifang, of Linlou Village in China's Henan Province, first started developing the strange growth in 2009, when a patch of rough skin appeared on the left side of her forehead.

Her youngest son, 60-year-old Zhang Guozheng, said that when the growth first appeared they 'didn't pay too much attention to it'.

'But as time went on a horn grew out of her head and it is now 6cm long,' he said.

The growth  is thought to be a 'cutaneous horn' - a tumour composed of keratin, the same substance that makes up fingernails, which most commonly occur in elderly people. Normally cutaneous horns are very small, several larger ones, which can stretch several inches, have been recorded in the past.

The condition has left her family worried - especially now it seems that she is developing a second horn on the right side of her forehead to match the first.

Green Sex???

Yeah, I'm so totally talking about the over-played and extremely annoying, environmentally friendly kind of "Green." But hey, it still involves sex!!! Apparently even our sex lives can be eco-friendly. At least according to author Stefanie Iris Weiss and her new book Eco-Sec: Go Green Between the Sheets and Make Your Love Life Sustainable. From using recycled bamboo bed sheets to lubing up with pure coconut oil, apparently there are lots of ways to make sex green. Weiss even suggests instead of vibrators and other plastic sex toys, eco-sexuals should pleasure themselves with organic vegetables! (Cucumber anyone? ahahaha!)

It's Official: Dinosaurs went BOOM!

Because...its kinda about a rock? haha. But really, after all the years of pencil pushing nerds argueing....it's nice to know they finally agree on something!

According to Rueters London:

A panel of 41 scientists from across the world reviewed 20 years' worth of research to try to confirm the cause of the so-called Cretaceous-Tertiary (KT) extinction, which created a "hellish environment" around 65 million years ago and wiped out more than half of all species on the planet.
Scientific opinion was split over whether the extinction was caused by an asteroid or by volcanic activity in the Deccan Traps in what is now India, where there were a series of super volcanic eruptions that lasted around 1.5 million years.
The new study, conducted by scientists from Europe, the United States, Mexico, Canada and Japan and published in the journal Science, found that a 15-kilometre (9 miles) wide asteroid slamming into Earth at Chicxulub in what is now Mexico was the culprit.
"We now have great confidence that an asteroid was the cause of the KT extinction. This triggered large-scale fires, earthquakes measuring more than 10 on the Richter scale, and continental landslides, which created tsunamis," said Joanna Morgan of Imperial College London, a co-author of the review.
The asteroid is thought to have hit Earth with a force a billion times more powerful than the atomic bomb at Hiroshima.
Morgan said the "final nail in the coffin for the dinosaurs" came when blasted material flew into the atmosphere, shrouding the planet in darkness, causing a global winter and "killing off many species that couldn't adapt to this hellish environment."
Scientists working on the study analyzed the work of paleontologists, geochemists, climate modelers, geophysicists and sedimentologists who have been collecting evidence about the KT extinction over the last 20 years.
Geological records show the event that triggered the dinosaurs' demise rapidly destroyed marine and land ecosystems, they said, and the asteroid hit "is the only plausible explanation for this."
Peter Schulte of the University of Erlangen in Germany, a lead author on the study, said fossil records clearly show a mass extinction about 65.5 million years ago -- a time now known as the K-Pg boundary.
Despite evidence of active volcanism in India, marine and land ecosystems only showed minor changes in the 500,000 years before the K-Pg boundary, suggesting the extinction did not come earlier and was not prompted by eruptions.
The Deccan volcano theory is also thrown into doubt by models of atmospheric chemistry, the team said, which show the asteroid impact would have released much larger amounts of sulphur, dust and soot in a much shorter time than the volcanic eruptions could have, causing extreme darkening and cooling.
Gareth Collins, another co-author from Imperial College, said the asteroid impact created a "hellish day" that signaled the end of the 160-million-year reign of the dinosaurs, but also turned out to be a great day for mammals.
"The KT extinction was a pivotal moment in Earth's history, which ultimately paved the way for humans to become the dominant species on Earth," he wrote in a commentary on the study.

Quadraplegic AC/DC Fan Blinded During Concert

 

According to the Courier-Mail, Terry Watson, 31, stabbed himself in the right eye with a metal manipulator prong as his wheelchair crashed more than a meter into the mosh pit. He has lost sight in the eye due to his injuries. The accident has led to an investigation into the lack of a barrier in the wheelchair section of the Queensland Sport and Athletic Centre in Sydney, Australia.

Black Label Society Recruits Evenescence Member???

Apparently so....the band led by former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Zakk Wylde has officially announced that they've taken on Evenescence drummer, Will Hunt. Hunt is going to be touring with the band and recording their next studio album with them. BUT he will also remain a member of Evanescence, who got back into studio recently working on a new album themselves....

Cops Raid Megadeth Video Shoot....


Dave Mustian, via his Live Line service- where he leave phone messages that fans can listen to, says that police were called to set of a video shoot because Megadeth were using a tank in their promo film. "We're on location making the video for Right To Go Insane. We've got an M68a tank. The cops are here - it can get pretty hairy with this video shoot."

Black Sabbath and Ozzy are going at it.....again....


According to HeadbangerNYC.com, A Manhattan federal judge ruled last week that Ozzy Osbourne can proceed with his lawsuit against guitarist Tony Iommi over use of the Black Sabbath name. Iommi, back in May of 2009, took sole ownership of the band's name when he filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Ozzy is now suiing for 50% interest in the "Black Sabbath" trademark, along with a portion of Iommi's profits from use of the name. The judge ruled that Ozzy's  "signature lead vocals" are largely responsible for the band's "extrodinary success."
